Obituary For Rubie L. Eason

In obedience to our Heavenly Father, Rubie L. Fluellen Eason passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday at the blessed age of 91.

Mrs. Eason will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 following a One O'clock P.M. Homegoing Celebration in the sanctuary of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor James G. Davis.

There will be no public viewing at the funeral home.

A native of Lumpkin, GA., and the daughter of the late John R. and Cora E. Latimer Fluellen, Mrs. Eason was a 1946 graduate of Lumpkin High and Industrial School. While residing in New York, she attended Cornell University, studying Labor Law. She retired from Macy's accounting department as a bookkeeper and statistical clerk after over 33 years of services. She also served as the Administrator for the local I-S Department Store Workers Union representing 8000 members. A devout member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, she served as the former Secretary of the Deaconess and Senior Ushers Ministries.

Surviving are two devoted sons, Ellis Bryant Jr., and Lawrence E. Griffin; one daughter, Juanita H. Payne; five grandchildren, Lolita Griffin, Deidra Bryant, Michael Griffin, April Griffin and Michelle Griffin; ten great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren; two nieces, Alma L. Burford and Tina L. Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
