Obituary For Nadine June Kilman Abbott

Nadine June Kilman Abbott was born on May 12, 1937 in Arizona to Lloyd and Ethel Baugher Kilman. She passed from this life on August 5, 2021, in LaGrange, GA. She was 84.

Nadine was a 1955 graduate of Bald Knob High School in Bald Knob, AR, where her love of art was first fostered. She married Ray Dean Abbott in 1956, and they would eventually make their home in Camden, AR.

Nadine was an award-winning artist who studied under Milford Zornes, Edgar Whitney and M. Douglas Walton, all of whom had a profound impact on her painting style. She was also a prolific gardener who would spend hours searching the countryside for rare plants. She loved volunteering with the Camden Daffodil Festival which she did for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Lou Ann Hooker, and three of her siblings, James Robert Kilman, Barbara Ann Rice and Judith Sharon Adcock.

She is survived by her daughter Renae Abbott Willis (Todd) of LaGrange, GA; son Tommy Abbott (Kim) of Greenwell Springs, LA; Five grandchildren Dwayne Hooker (Marlene) and Christopher Hooker (Brittney) of Camden, AR; Meredith Griffin (Bowen) and Anna Willis of LaGrange, GA and Jared Abbott of Greenwell Springs, LA; Four great-grandchildren Bailey Hooker, Tripp Hooker, Woods Griffin and Caroline Griffin. She is also survived by her sister Llewellyn Delaney (Robert); brothers-in-law Frank Adcock (Kathy) and Linos Abbott (Brenda); sister-in-law Beverly Kilman, and numerous nieces and nephews all of whom she loved dearly.

A memorial service will be held later this fall in Camden, AR.

Services have been entrusted to Bluffton Funeral Services, Lanett, Alabama.
