Ronnie, known by many as, “Stank”, attended the public schools of Harris County and immediately following his attendance, he went into construction work with Rev. O.C. and Michael Stiggers. They mentored Ronnie and also assisted with the purchase of his first car. Ronnie transported the neighborhood children to school with his new pride and joy. He was well-known for his carpentry skills.
He was an all-round outdoorsman, taking any opportunity to work and have recreation in the sun.
Ronnie professed his faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized into Mount Nebo Baptist Church, West Point, GA, where he served faithfully on the Deacon Board and took great pride in manicuring the church grounds.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Johnson and a sister, Sarah Walker.
A life-time of memories will forever be cherished and etched in the hearts of his children, brother and companion: daughter, Valerie Parkmond, LaGrange, GA, daughter, Rhonda Johnson, West Point, GA; son, Ronnie (LaTanya) Johnson, Jr., West Point, GA; daughter, Mahogany “Honey” Blackthorne, Muscogee County, GA, daughter, Lawanda (David) Watts, Lanett, AL, and daughter, Marcelyn Johnson of Lanett, AL, one brother, Hugh Stanley Johnson, West Point, GA; companion, Yolanda Hopkins, West Point, GA; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. ET in the Marseilles Cemetery with Rev. W.G. Wimberly, Eulogist, Rev. Alton Barber, Rev. Patrick Turner and Rev. Michael Stiggers, Assisting.
Public viewing will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the M. W. Lee Mortuary.
