Obituary For Alma Lee Owens

Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Ms. Alma Lee Owens, 75, of Union Springs, Alabama.

Born April 6,1942 in Union Springs, Alabama, Ms. Owens transitioned into eternity March 9, 2018 at Jackson Hospital.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11:00 am from the sanctuary of Mt. Silla Baptist Church of Union Springs, Alabama.

Words of comfort will be rendered by the pastor, Rev. Fred Douglas Sr.

Interment will be in the Mason Cemetery of Union Springs, Alabama.

Ms. Owens will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.

Public visitation will be Friday, March 16, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home.

Ms. Alma Lee Owens, devoted and beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on March 9, 2018. She was born April 6, 1942 to the late Janie Lee Pierson of Inverness, Alabama and Eddie Jones of Union Springs, Alabama. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She loved to bake cake and cook lots of food for family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Janie Le Pierson; one son: Ronnie Owens; one daughter: Linda Owens; three brothers: Willie Mark Owens, Robert Bethune and Joseph Pearson; and one sister: Annie Jean Pruitt.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons: Christopher Owens of Union Springs, AL. and Antonio (Erica) Owens of Prattville, AL.; two brothers: Frank Owens and Irvin Owens both of Union Springs, AL.; four sisters: Mary (McKinley) Sweeney and Martha Owens both of Saginaw, MI., Janice (Flint) Berry of Union Springs, AL., and Clara Pearson of Atlanta, GA.; four grandchildren: Katrina Owens of Union Springs, AL., Darius Owens, Alexus Owens and Azaria Owens both of Prattville, AL.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; special cousin: Ella Mae Johnson, and friends; special friends: Mary Hurt Parker and Oliver Hardley.
