Obituary For Ethel Lula Gilbert

Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mrs. Ethel Lula Gilbert, 68 of Clayton, Alabama on February 20, 2018.

Services Celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 1:00 pm from the sanctuary of Mt. Mariah Baptist Church, Clayton, AL., Rev. Richard Mitchell, Pastor.

Rev. Dennis Blakely will render Words of Comfort.

Mrs. Gilbert will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.

Public visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home.

Interment: Mt Mariah Baptist Church Cemetery

Ethel Lula Gilbert was born December 24, 1949 in Michigan to the late Charlie Lee Davis and the late Eva Mae Wilson. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with the Mt. Mariah Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Lee Davis and Eva Mae Wilson; husband, Jessie Gilbert; daughter Kimberly; son Jessie, granddaughter; Dominicha Gilbert, and great granddaughter, Angel Starks.

Ethel Lula leaves to cherish her loving memories six children: Lula (Jimmy) Hall, Jeannetta ( Ervin) Turner, Mary Gilbert, Tina Gilbert, Brenda (Anthony) Walker and Terry (Brianna) Gilbert; one brother, Frank Wilson; one sister, Josephe Johnson; mother-in-law, Mattie Gilbert; three special sistersin-law: Mary Louise Nelson, Elliose Hill, Shirley Blakely; one special brother-in-law, Willie James Gilbert; four brothers-inlaw, seventeen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
