Grandpa, I really can't believe you are gone, I am lost for words right now. June 23 was the last day I have seen you. My heart is so heavy right now because when I was around you, You were full with laughter And so much love. I really enjoyed myself with you , we went to the peach park , you had ice cream , had a small party for the grandbaby, came across the street to just spend time with you and big momma .. Now that you are gone it's gone be heard for me because I was just with you 😔 I love you pawpaw so much and I will truly miss you 😢 Love, granddaughter Tatyanna

We love you grandpa. Grandpa Alfred (and grandma Mary+ great grandma Ted) always made sure my sister and I were fully included as grandchildren. ("We don't play that step business") Grandpa Alfred loved his old school gospel music and I loved being able to look up to him and my grandma Mary as what a married couple should look like (a rare thing to find these days.) Everytime I saw him or got on the phone with him, I'd say "you're looking good grandpa!" And he'd respond- "I know it, I know it. "But do the people in Milwaukee know it?" And I'd proceed to tell him "No, grandpa, I don't I don't think they know it." Then he'd respond- "Gone head and tell em then!" I feel like I SHOULD feel sadder, but I'm not all that sad about my grandfather's passing. All I feel is joy. Joy for all the memories I've shared with my very own grandfather, joy for knowing where my grandfather is right now- in heaven with great grandma Ted. I feel joy to know that one day I will see him again... most likely in a white suit. And when I do, I'll look at him and say well grandpa, you lookin' good. And he'll look at me and say "I know it. I know it..

Uncle Lewis was a husband, father, brother and uncle to many. He was a very patient humble God fearing man. I never heard him raise his voice. He was a peacemaker and never wanted to see anyone feeling hurt. He ALWAYS made me feel like I was his favorite niece. It is your turn to FLY HIGH AND WATCH OVER THE FAMILY...Til we met again...
