Carter Funeral Home announces with humble respect the transition of Mrs. Climmie Mae Boykins, 92, of Philadelphia, PA. on February 13, 2018. Mrs. Boykins, born October 15,1925 was a native of Union Springs, Alabama.

Celebration of Life Services will be held graveside on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Cemetery, Simsville, Community. Words of comfort will be delivered by Rev. Eddie C. Jasper, pastor of the Haynes Chapel Baptist Church, Cornerstone Community, and Rev. Theodore R. Nicholson, pastor of the Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Philadelphia.

Climmie, born October 15, 1925 in Union Springs, Alabama, was the daughter of the late Mose Feagin and Mary Ella Feagin.

Preceding her in death were her late husband, William Boykins of Bay Minette, Alabama, 7 brothers and 3 sisters.

Surviving her are 2 loving sisters- Annie Jane Johnson, and Jeff Anna Jessie of Union Springs, AL; beloved daughter and son-in-law- Ruby Marie Nicholson and Pastor Theodore R. Nicholson of Philadelphia, PA, dearest son and daughter-in-law- Curtis Lee Johnson and Hyesha Johnson of Orange Park, FL; 3 treasured grandsons- Terence (Terry) Boykins of Silver Springs, MD; James Wright of Harrisburg, PA, and Terrence Nelson of Philadelphia, PA; 3 cherished granddaughters- Tasheea Nicholson, Thema Nicholson, and Nyla Nicholson Nelson of Philadelphia, PA; 1 aunt- Janie Manuel of Alabama, 6 greatgrandchildren (1 deceased), and a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Climmie was a long time resident of Philadelphia, PA. where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Union Springs, Alabama upon marrying William Boykins at the age of 21. She was baptized and faithfully attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church until relocating to Philadelphia and attending Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church and Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church. She attended Cornerstone school and went on to be a licensed boarding home owner. At 85, Climmie was diagnosed with breast cancer and transitioned to York Nursing Home; three years later she had overcome her breast cancer. At 92, she was diagnosed with colon & liver cancer. While she held fast to the Lord's unchanging hand, God showed her mercy and called her home to rest in His care.
