Obituary For Sydney Gaines Lanier

Mrs. Sydney Gaines Lanier of Lanett, Alabama passed away at her residence on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Mrs. Lanier was born on December 25, 1929 in Elberton Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years Campbell Brown Lanier, Jr.

Her family includes sons Cam (Melanie) Lanier III; Gaines (Sonia) Lanier; Tom (Sue Ellen) Lanier; Grandchildren Cam Lanier IV; Melissa Lanier Price; Ashley Lanier Jennings; Lindsey Gaines Lanier; Lindy White Lankford (deceased); Great Grandchildren Cam V, Park, Philip “Pete “and Ann Louise Lanier; Zachry, Malcolm, and Jane Lowry Jones; Sydney and Ward Jennings; and Porter Lanier Lankford.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday February 7, 2018, 11:30 am at the Chapel of Spring Road Christian Church in Lanett. Rev Mark Smith-Chaplain of ITC Holding Co. and Dean Collins-President of Point University will be officiating the service.

The memorial service will be followed by visitation between the hours of 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm at Gaines and Sonia Lanier’s home, 1118 North 18th Street, Lanett, Alabama. Please park at Spring Road Christian Church, as a shuttle service will provide transportation to their home and back.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Springwood School in Lanett, Alabama or Point University in West Point Georgia.
