Mr. Edward (Pot) King was born September 30, 1950 in Union Springs, Alabama to the late Mr. and Mrs. Nathan King Sr.
He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Mathews, Alabama until it closed it’s doors in 2016. He continued to serve the Lord by visiting different churches in the community.
Edward was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone that knew him. He loved to give everyone a nickname and tell a joke or two to put a smile on your face. On Tuesday, January 16, 2018, Edward joined his parents, son, and brothers at his new heavenly home.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of 46 years Mrs. Annie C. King, daughter Stacie Rodgers of Union Springs, AL, and son Eric Monday of Rochester, New York. Six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three brothers Willie, Alvin, and Clifton King. Three sisters Betty (Randolph) Edwards, Mary Artis both of New York, and Mammie Sanders of Jacksonville, FL. Two sisters-inlaw Annie Kate and Viola Monday both of Union Springs, AL. Four brothers-in-law Stanley, Arthur, and James Frank Monday of Union Springs, AL and Willie Monday of Montgomery, AL, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
