Obituary For Carrie B. Boddie

We respectfully announce the passing of Mrs. Carrie B. Boddie of Greenville, Georgia on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Wellstar West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church located at 49 Todd Road in Greenville, Georgia. Pastor DeMond Johnson will officiate and interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Public viewing will be held Thursday from 12:00 noon to 7:00 PM. Due to COVID-19 concerns, everyone in attendance at the viewing and the Funeral Service must wear a mask and social distancing is encouraged.

Carrie Bell Boddie,84, of Greenville, Ga was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 30th, surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born to Obie and Eleanor Parks on October 7, 1936.

Carrie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lee Morgan Boddie, brothers and one sister, Gwendolyn Parks, Herbert Jr. Parks (Sallie), Willie Clifford Parks, Obie Parks (Idell) and John Henry Parks

During her early adulthood, Carrie joined in holy matrimony with Lee Morgan Boddie. Over the years she worked at Goody’s (Manchester, Ga) and Shaw Industry (Newnan, Ga) textile plants. Carrie also was an active member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. She joined the church at a young age, and faithfully served on both the usher and mother board for many years.

Carrie enjoyed sewing and quilting. She continued this passion as a member of the Lutherville Senior Citizens Organization. Carrie also loved preparing delicious meals for others, fishing, and gardening both vegetables and flowers. Most of all she looked forward to and cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carrie leaves to mourn her death five children, Rufus Jr. Boddie (Gladys) Atlanta, Ga, Annie Ruth Boddie Griffin, Ga, Ronnie Boddie, Cherrie Myrick (Ricardo Sr), and Gwendolyn Jones (Matthew) each of Greenville, Ga. Grandchildren, Nicole Hopson (Jeremy), Rickea Talley (Clifton), Ricardo Myrick Jr. all of Greenville, Ga, Charisse Jones and Nicholas Jones of Lagrange, Ga. Great-grandchildren Tatyanna Myrick, Cierra Talley, Tavarus Myrick, Alena Talley, Layla Hopson, Makayla Hopson, Clifton Talley Jr., Maikiah Hopson, two brother-in-laws Ruffin Boddie Atlanta, Ga, and Frank Parks (Oneva) Greenville,Ga, As well as special nieces and nephews, Brenda Mullins, Bernice Johnson, Dennessra Dozier, Darren Parks, Larry Parks and a host of other relatives and friends.
