A Memorial Service for Mr. Morgan will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST, Thursday, June 3, 2021 in the Eastview Cemetery with Keith Cordell serving as the Memorial Speaker.
Ronald Glen Morgan was born on February 28, 1958 in Washington D.C. to his loving parents, Harold Lee Morgan and Alice Johnson Morgan.
After his father retired from the military, Ron went to high school in West Point, GA. He and his family were contacted by Jehovah's Witnesses in April 1974 and he got baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on May 3, 1975. After high school, he attended West Georgia Technical College and learned electronics.
On February 9, 1979, he and his brother, Jeffery Morgan were invited to serve at the world headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses in Brooklyn, New York. He worked on various printing presses for 13 years, printing the Bible and Bible-based publications. He also worked in the electrical and building maintenance departments. In 2006 he moved back down south to be near his parents and worked in driving shuttles for Groome and Lanett City Hall and cleaning maintenance.
Ron enjoyed speaking to individuals about the Bible and the hope he entertained. Ron enjoyed traveling and enjoyed his favorite game, bid whist. Ron was a loving and caring shepherd and knew God's Word very well and could explain it. He was humble and unassuming and worked hard in his service to Jehovah. He passed away on May 24, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Lee Morgan, aunt, Eddye Mae Johnson Hall (Frank Hall), aunt, Minnie Johnson Brooks (Ben Brooks), his uncle John C. Morgan and uncle Earl Morgan.
He is survived by: his mother, Alice Johnson Morgan; brother, Jeffery Neal(Jeanette) Morgan; uncles, E.D. Van Johnson, Arthur(Pointsetta)Johnson, Larry (Norma) Johnson; aunts; Peggy McCormick, Claudine Johnson Greenwood, Deloris Morgan, Jean Morgan; leaves a host of cousins and friends.
