Obituary For Mr. William A. Carter

Mr. William A. Carter, a resident of Atlanta, GA and former resident of LaFayette, AL, died Friday, May 21, 2021 at Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center, Atlanta, GA.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. (CST) at Greater Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church Parking Lot, LaFayette, AL with Pastor Rodney Thomas, Sr. officiating.

Interment will follow in Standing Rock Cemetery, LaFayette, AL. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.

Public Viewing is scheduled for Friday, May 28, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. (CST) from Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Services by Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley.

William Al Carter was born March 6, 1951 in LaFayette, Alabama to Mr. Ell and Mrs. Minnie L. Wyckoff Carter. He was the tenth child of 12 children. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Standing Rock United Methodist Church in LaFayette. He worked for Aunt Fannie/Pet/Flowery Bakery for 35 years.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; three brothers, Levell Carter, L C Carter, Sr. and Ocie Lee Carter; and three sisters, St. Augustine Carter Beach, Cora Lee Carter and Dorthell Carter. Mr. William Al Carter departed this life on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: four sisters, Katherine James and Willie Dell Carter both of Roanoke, AL, Johnnie (Roger) Jackson, Lanett, AL and Daisy (Jessie) Daniels, Atlanta, GA; one brother, Eddie L. Carter, Roanoke, AL; four godchildren, Randy Daniels, Mattie (Roderick) Butler, Lisa Lewis and Willie Daniels all of Atlanta, GA; best friend, Charlie Joe Ballard; special friend, Ann Wilson; and, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
