Obituary For Gladys Allums

Celebrating her 99 year journey to eternity, Carter Funeral Home is humbled to announce the transition of Mrs. Gladys Allums of the Three Notch Community, Midway, Alabama.

Mrs. Allums transitioned into eternity on April 12, 2021 at the Bullock County Hospital.

Mrs. Gladys Allums, a long lifetime resident of Three Notch Community and a native of Enon Community of Midway, AL, was born to the late Henry Thomas Foxx and Lucindy Foster Foxx on December 23, 1921.

Gladys confessed Christ at an early age and joined St. Luke A.M.E. Church in the Enon Community of Midway, AL, where she sang in the adult choir.

Gladys had a zeal for helping others. She loved to work in her garden and to share her harvest with her family and friends.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Allums; son, Sgt. James Edward Allums; six sisters, Darnella Harvey, Ollie Tarver, Ora Sellers, Pansy Burke, Ethel Foxx, and Lucy Jones; two brothers, Marshall Foxx and Howard Foxx. She entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 12, 2021.

She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her precious memories: two loving daughers, Joeretta Foxx of New Orleans, LA and Ardangel Kendrick of Union Springs, AL; three devoted sons, Clarence (I Sun) Foxx of Hopkins, SC, Lewis Foxx of Winter Haven, FL, and Willie James (Belinda) Allums of Union Springs, AL; one sister, Mattie Lue Kendrick of Birmingham, AL; seventeen grandchildren, Nikita Smith, Willie Parham, Kelvin Kendrick, Emanuel Foxx, Jennifer Foxx, Kanetra Parham, Sabrina Kendrick, Tyrone Sanders, Savannah Foxx, Marcus Pugh, Shykeria Turner, Brittany Kendrick, Derion Allums, Christopher Allums, Lewis Foxx, Jr., Demetrius Parham, and Courtney Turner; twenty-two great-grandchildren; special caregivers, Roney Joiner, Carrie Sparks, and Jeanette Blue; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Staff of Carter Funeral Home is honored to be selected to provide End Of Life Services for the late Mrs. Gladys Allums.
