Obituary For George Van Thrash Jr.

We respectfully announce the passing of Mr. George Van Thrash Jr., age 71, of Hogansville, Georgia on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital-Midtown.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Westview Cemetery, located on West Boyd Road in Hogansville, Georgia. Rev. Bernard Sutton will officiate.

Public viewing will be held Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Due to COVID-19 concerns everyone in attendance at the Graveside and the viewing must wear a mask and social distancing is encouraged.

George Van Thrash was born June 24, 1949 to the late George and Judelia Thrash. On April 10, 2021 George Van answered the calling from his master to come take a rest at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital.

George also was called Van attended school at West End High School where he graduated in 1968. Van was united in Holy Matrimony to Patricia Brown to this union three children was born. Van join Saint Paul AME Church at early age where he served the Lord in the Young Adult Choir.

Preceded him in death Mother, Judelia Thrash; Father, George Thrash; Brother’s Myron and Alphonson Thrash.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Two daughters, Althina (Tony) Glanton, Stephanie McCullough, Two Sons, Corey (DeMessia) Thrash Sr, and Neil (Monica) Grier; eighteen grandchildren; Iesha, D’coreous (Jekeva), Jasmine, Braylon, Ashley, Asia, Alisha, Corey Jr., Anayah, Sarea, Monica, Khalil, Angel, Abigail, D’Asia, Joell, Seth and Sage. Seven Great Grandchildren; Serenity, Di’Coreous, Jayla, Carmen, Chance, Matthew, DeShawn; Very special friends: Joe Brown, Peggy Smith, Larry and Carolyn Shields, Lamar Allums, Robert Rosser, Phyllis McKeithern and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.
