Carter Funeral Home announces with the deepest respect, the transition of Mrs.Bobbie Jean Harris,58, of Union Springs,Alabama.

Born January 2,1959, Mrs. Harris transitioned into eternity,Friday,May 26,2017 at her residence.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday June 3,2017 at 11:00 am from the sanctuary of the Mt. Zion. Missionary Baptist Church. 3431 Lee Loop Road, Union Springs,Alabama. Rev James N.Robbins,Sr. Pastor.

Words of comfort will,be rendered by the Rev. Thomas Pritchett.Sr.,pastor of the Mallard Chapel AME Zion Church.

Interment will follow in the St. John AME Cemetery, County Road 30,Union Springs,Alabama.

Mrs.Harris will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday,June 2,2017 from 2:00 pm until 7;00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bobbie Jean Harris was born to the late Fletcher Baldwin, Sr. and Velma Baldwin in Bullock County, Alabama on January 2, 1959. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Joseph William Harris.

Sister Harris accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Mallard Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. Sis. Harris had a deep love for God and was a very active member in the church choir and served faithfully as Sunday School teacher until her health failed.

She loved spending quality time with her children, grandchildren and mother. She made everyone feel welcome upon entering her home that was filled with much joy and laughter. Sis. Harris answered her Master’s call on Friday, May 26, 2017. She was preceded in death by her father: Fletcher Baldwin, Sr.; husband: Joseph William Harris; one sister: Mozilla Walker; four brothers: Fletcher Baldwin, Jr., Alfonza Baldwin, Charles Baldwin, and James Baldwin.

Bobbie leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted mother: Velma Baldwin of Union Springs, Al.; four loving and devoted children: Jermaine (Shawanda) Watts, Lynniecia Watts and Shanton Watts, all of Union Springs, Al., Anthony (Janet) Watts of Atmore, Al.; two step-daughters: Kema Fizer and Monique Harris both of Detroit, MI.; four sisters: Willie (Tom) Tucker of Philadelphia, PA., Shirley Ann Baldwin of Troy, AL., Annie (John) Thomas of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., and Thelma (Phillip) Foxx of Union Springs, AL.; five brothers: Bernard Baldwin of Birmingham, AL., Jerry (Nona) Baldwin and Fletcher Baldwin, Jr. of Union Springs, AL., Mack Baldwin of Talladega, AL., and Willie C. Baldwin of Columbus, GA.; nine grandchildren: Michaela, Christopher, Edwin II, Ja’Nia, Amber, Carter, Ja’kyus, Sha’kirah, and Ni’Tirah; two sisters-in-law: Martha Ree Harris of Midway, AL., and Annie Ree Harris of Detroit, MI.; one brother-in-law: Thomas Edward Harris of Union Springs, AL.; a devoted nephew: Da’Marcus Foxx of Union Springs, AL.; a very caring caretaker: Armada Miles; one aunt: Annie C. Penn of Midway, AL.; several devoted friends: Lugenia Davis, Irene Forte, Ardis (Billy) Harris, Edwin Rayborn I, Grace Howard, Bessie Joyner, Sammie Miles, Annie Pearl Davis, Rachel Hill, Patricia Crawford, Annie Youngblood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
