Obituary For Mr. James Eugene Carston

Carston, Mr. James Eugene, a resident of Lanett, AL, died Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at his residence.

Graveside Services are scheduled for Monday, March 29, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. (EST) at Hillcrest Cemetery, Country Club Road, Lanett, AL with Rev. Frederick James, Ph.D. officiating. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.

Public Viewing is scheduled for Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. from Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.

James Eugene Carston was born January 21, 1944 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the parentage of Katie Carston and James Washington.

At an early age, James accepted Christ as his personal Savior. He was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Lanett, Alabama.

He enjoyed a career as a Poultry Inspector for the Federal Government and retired in 2014 after 30 years of service. James left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He loved working and helping others.

He loved football and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.

He was preceded in death by: his parents and his son, James Eugene Carston, Jr. Mr. Carston departed this life on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at his residence.

Precious memories will be cherished by: his loving and devoted wife, Mattie R. Frazier Carston; five daughters, Tresa Carston (Kenneth) Mines, Dolores Carston, Yvette Carston, Trudy Carston and Sieglenda Carston; two sons, Christopher Carston and Troy Carston; 26 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Emily) Carston; two loving stepchildren, LaDonna Hightower and Nicholas (Monica) Martin; sister-in-law, Charlie M. Lassiter; and, a host of other relatives and friends.
