Betty Trammell

Mrs. Betty Trammell, age 89, of West Point, GA, gained her wings into eternal rest on Monday, February, 22, 2021 at Canterbury Health Care Center, Phenix City, AL.

Mrs. Betty Ann Sands Trammell, the daughter of the late Robert and Daisy Lee(Todd) Sands, was born July 8, 1931 in Harris County, West Point, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anderson(Dook) Trammell.

Betty joined the Mount Nebo Baptist Church in West Point, GA, where he accepted Christ early in life under the Pastorship of Rev. B.C. Carter. She enjoyed being on several auxiliaries, as well as, a choir member until her health failed. Betty attended the Tenth(10th) Street School. She was employed with West Point Pepperell and Five Star Catering, LaGrange, GA until her retirement. She enjoyed fishing and working in her garden. While her true passion was cooking for her family and friends as well as her church family.

She loved and enjoyed shopping for those wide brim hats and matching shoes and purses. She would say “Always looks like a Lady, to be treated like a Lady.”

She leaves to cherish her memories to: stepdaughters Jennie B. Trammell, LaGrange, GA, Francine(Eulace)Billingslea, Waverly Hall, GA; one granddaughter, DeA’nna L. Mickens, Midland, GA; two grandsons, Cobert(CJ)Mickens, III, Sanger, TX and Jerek Trammell-Ruffin, LaGrange, GA; great grandsons, Akiyon and Dakareon Adams both of Midland, GA; one sister, Mrs. Willie Bell Sands Heard, West Point, GA; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Leila Bell Sands and Mrs. Mary Trammell Hall both West Point, GA, six nephews, Carlton Sands, West Point, GA. Dr. Willie A.(Shirley) Sands, Stone Mountain, GA., John W. James, Beaumont, California, Robert L. James, Atlanta, GA., Dennis L. Heard and Franklin K. Heard both of West Point, GA; four nieces, Delores(Edward) Simmons, Columbus,GA. Marietta(Curtis) Trapp, Blythewood, SC, Tonja R. Heard and Kovia(Maurice) Winston both of West Point, GA and a host of nieces and nephews, and Church Family and friends.

Graveside Service will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Marseilles Cemetery with Pastor Charles Trammell, Sr., Eulogist, Pastor Alton E. Barber, Sr., Dr. WIllie Sands, and Pastor WIllie J. Barber, II, Assisting.

Public viewing will be on Sunday, February 28, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the mortuary.
