Carter Funeral Home respectfully announces the transition of James Clem Murray, 69, a native of Bullock County, AL. Mr. Murray affectionately known as “Buck” was born July 12, 1947 to the late Clem and Elizabeth Johnson Murray. He was the fifth of eleven children. On March 16, 2017, his race was won. He departed this life at Southern Springs Healthcare and Rehabilitation Facility.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the sanctuary of the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 7482 Highway 82, Union Springs, AL 36089, Rev. Jerome Anthony, Pastor.

Words of comfort will be delivered by Rev. Jacquelyn Hayter. Interment will follow immediately afterwards in Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Cemetery.

Mr. Murray will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.

James leaves to cherish his memories: three sisters, Bobbie (Raymond) Carter, Oklahoma City, OK, Pearlie Murry, Union Springs, AL and Lindia Murry, Fitzpatrick, AL; four brothers, Bernard (Pat) Johnson, Summerville, SC, John Murray, Ronnie Murray, Union Springs, AL, and OC Murray, Fitzpatrick, AL. Two aunts, Helen Johnson and Yvonne Washington, Wichita, KA. And a host of nieces and nephews.
