Mr. Roger O’Dolphus Hales left us to join our Heavenly Father on January 24, 2021, after an extended battle with multiple health issues.

In 1959 he moved his young family to West Point, GA when he began work at Valley Chevrolet, and finished his career in 2015 after serving many happy years with Langley Motor Company.

Mr. Hales was a loving and faithful husband and father. He was a member of West Point First Baptist Church for over 60 years, where he served as a youth Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, deacon, and deacon emeritus. He served on the West Point City School Board alongside his friends and colleagues during the unification of the West Point Public School System. He was also a member of the West Point Jaycees and Toastmasters clubs. To the Hales Family, I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Hales passing. I was fortunate to meet him a few times in his later years. Most importantly I got to know Mr. Hales through the eyes and words of Clay. Hearing Clay just say his name, "Daddy" when he talked about him was so touching. I heard the love, respect and esteem Clay felt for his Father. Clay and his family were very lucky to have such a Father, Grandfather, a uncle and cousin in their lives.
