Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Westview Cemetery located on West Boyd Road in Hogansville, Georgia. Pastor Collier Starks (Springfield Baptist Church), Eulogist.

Public viewing will be held Friday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Due to COVID-19 concerns everyone in attendance at the Graveside and the public viewing must WEAR A MASK and social distancing is encouraged.

Ms. Beverly Ann Rutledge, born to the late John William Rutledge, Sr. and the late Peggy Ruth Cameron Rutledge, entered this world on December 21, 1963. Receiving joy, unspeakable joy, Beverly answered God’s call to enter the gates of heaven on January 17, 2021.

At an early age, Beverly joined Springfield Baptist Church, Hogansville, Georgia under the leadership of the late Reverend Edward R. Davie. Beverly was a member of the then newly formed Springfield Baptist Sanctuary Choir under the leadership of Bishop Richard B. Lankford. Beverly graduated from Hogansville High School with the Class of 1981. During her high school years, Beverly displayed her charismatic and congenial personality as a member of the cheerleading team, basketball team, and tennis team. She also enjoyed being a member of the community softball team as a pitcher. After high school, Beverly attended Kerr Business College in LaGrange, GA earning an associates degree. Beverly dedicated many years of service in the textile and manufacturing industries while employed full-time with Uniroyal Goodrich, Hogansville, Georgia, Kason Industries, Newnan, GA, Inflation Systems, LaGrange, GA and T-Mobile, LaGrange, GA. Most recently, Beverly served as a bus monitor with the Troup County School System, LaGrange, GA. Beverly was the epitome of a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and auntie. She loved her children, Brittney and Jomarcus and grandchildren, Davion and Kingston unconditionally. Her dedication to family and friends was shown through her many acts of kindness from babysitting, to driving everyone to appointments, sporting events, and other activities. Beverly thoroughly enjoyed taking on the road and would often drive her sisters around town and run errands for them near and far. She was always helpful and supported her family in any way she could. Beverly’s nephews and great nephews loved for her to host sleepovers because she entertained them with her humor and was the “fun” auntie that also allowed them to stay up late playing video games.

Beverly was a true giver. Her kindness and generosity extended beyond her immediate family. She was always able to build strong bonds with elderly family friends and community members ensuring their needs were met by taking them to the grocery store, doctor visits, and many other appointments. She never expected anything in return, but performed these acts of kindness from the goodness of her heart. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Rutledge, Sr. and two sisters, Carol Sue Hopson and Jeanette Rutledge.

Our beloved, Beverly leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Brittney Johnson (David Hutchins, Jr.), LaGrange, GA; son, Jomarcus Brown, Hogansville, GA; two grandsons, Davion Johnson and Kingston Hutchins; nine brothers and sisters, Katie R. Darden, Vickey Rutledge, Peggy Nell Rutledge, Janice Sanders, John W. (Carolyn) Rutledge, Jr., David (Francine) Rutledge, Sr., Daisy Rutledge, Billy Rutledge, and Regina (Jimmie) Dukes, all of Hogansville, GA; brother-in-law, David Hopson; uncle, Lewis Tigner, Hogansville, GA; aunts, Mandy Heard, Grantville, GA, Thelma Rutledge, LaGrange, GA, Annie (James) Hall, LaGrange, GA, and Katie B. Rutledge, Atlanta, GA; a dear neighbor, Mrs. Frankie Willoughby; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.
