We respectfully announce the passing of Mrs. Sylvia Thompson "Elaine" Johnson, age 64, of Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville, Georgia.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Southview Cemetery located on Hamilton Road in LaGrange, Georgia 30241. Pastor Oliver Cameron will officiate.

Public viewing will be held Monday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Due to COVID-19 concerns everyone in attendance at the Graveside and the public viewing must wear a mask and social distancing is encouraged.
Mrs. Sylvia Elaine Thompson Johnson, born to the late Oliver and Joyce Lindsey Thompson, entered into eternal rest on January 5, 2021 at Piedmont Hospital in Fayetteville, Georgia.
She began her earthly journey February 20, 1956 in Hogansville, Georgia (Corinth Community). She attended Hartford High School where she graduated in 1974. She furthered her education at Hartford Technical College. Her spiritual journey began at Wadley Chapel United Methodist Church and later joined New Life Journey Ministry under the pastorage of Rev. Oliver Cameron.
Her greatest achievement was her marriage to Michael Johnson on September 9, 1980.
Her employment included the following: CIGNA, formerly Connecticut General Insurance, and an Office Manager at Great Expression Dentistry until retirement in 2017.
Her family and friends will cherish her memories: Husband: Michael; children, Tonga (Rico) Rutledge and Carlos (Shemeka) Johnson; god-children, Derica Newton, Devin Newton and Kiona Cameron; sisters ~brother, Cynthia Thompson (deceased), Cassandra Thompson, Darrell Adams, and Bernice (Gary) Newton; grandchildren; Cardarrius, Tykeria, Jasmine, Codirra, Keyundra, Eva, and Nolan; special children~ Desron Thompson, Kiara Hughley, Atlantis Thompson, Kaylee Thompson, Koen Thompson and Avion Alford; favorite cousins ~ Flora Lindsey and Donald Hinton; special friends ~ Sherry Clancy and Roenell Lowe; and a multiplicity of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
