T. Anna, daughter of the late Lucinda Bunch and Silas Colman, was born on August 3, 1932, in Tallulah, Louisiana. She was the best friend and wife of Beverly Townsend, Sr., with whom she shared thirty-five years of marriage filled with love before his passing in 1982.
T. Anna was well-known for her southern hospitality. She loved to cook. In addition to preparing meals for her family, her table was always open to neighborhood kids she felt were family. T. Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, and gardening-her hands were rarely still. She was most proud of being a devoted servant of Jehovah God to whom she dedicated her life in 1975.
T. Anna is predeceased by her husband, Beverly Townsend, Sr., and children Lucendia Freeman, George Silas Townsend, Mary Louise Townsend, Gregory Earl Townsend, Sr., and Sandra Denise Townsend. She is survived by children, Beverly Townsend, Jr. (Galrecia), of Tallulah, LA, Willie Lee Townsend, Sr. (Annie B.) of Columbus, GA, Margaret Ann Dee (Anderson) of Columbus, GA, Ronnie Lewis Townsend (Gabriele) of Clarksville, TN, Patrick Owen Townsend (Jessie) of Tallulah, LA, Deborah Jean Townsend (David) of Los Angeles, CA, Maurice Townsend, Sr. (Sharika) of Vicksburg, MS, Phillip Andrea Townsend (Vincent) of Austin, TX, daughter-in-law, Paulla Rambo-Townsend of Tallulah, LA; Twenty-nine (29) grandchildren; Ninety-six (96) great-grandchildren, and thirty-one (31) great-great-grandchildren.
An inurnment ceremony will be held on November 30, 2021, in Tallulah, Louisiana, to celebrate the life of T. Anna.
In place of flowers, you can have a tree planted by The Trees Remember or make a donation to the ASPCA, the International Rhino Foundation or the World Wildlife Fund in T. Anna's name.
