Mrs. Hazel Scott, age 79, of Lanett, AL transitioned on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at EAMC-Lanier Nursing Home, Valley, AL.
Hazel Monzel Watts-Scott was born on November 18, 1940 to the parents of the late Frank and Gaudie Dorsey-Watts. She departed this life on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at EAMC-Lanier Nursing Home in Valley, Alabama. She was a member of Goodsell United Methodist Church and Rocky Mount Methodist Church.
Hazel was a retired teacher from the Bowen East Head Start Program.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Robert Lee Scott, one sister, Catherine Morris; six brothers, Wille Frank Watts, Jesse Rufus Watts, James Grady Watts, Melvin Eugene Watts, John Ester Watts, and Curtis Lewis Watts; mother and father-in-law, Earnest and Willie Rose Scott, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Karl Ethan Scott, and Robert Earl Scott, both of Lanett, AL; three grandchildren, Karl O. Scott, Brent Scott, and Sherika Scott; one brother, Rev. Lawrence Watts, sisters-in-law, brothers -in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Lanett, AL with the Rev. Kelsey Barnes serving as the Eulogist.
Public viewing will be on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m at the mortuary.
To be absent from the body is being present with the Lord. Family we all are sending our Heartfelt and Deepest Sympathy with knowing our Sweet and Dearest Cousin has left this Earth on to Heaven. We will continue to Pray and keep you lifted. Charlie Watts and his Girls.
