Obituary For Alvin Norris Ross

Mr. Alvin Norris Ross was born to the union of the late Mr. Penny Ross and Mrs. Tommie Sue Ross on March 18, 1950 in Troup County, Georgia. He gained his eternal wings on Friday, July 31, 2020 at WellStar West Georgia Hospice, LaGrange, GA.

Norris attended Harrison High School and was member of the class of 1968. He was a former employee of Langley Motors and Southern Ambulance as a mechanic for several years. After his loving wife became ill, Alvin became self employed as the neighborhood mechanic.

Alvin attended New Love Union Baptist Church in West Point, GA. He was joined in Holy matrimony to Mrs. Betty Haynes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mrs. Betty Haynes; sister, Carolyn (James) Brooks; brothers, John Wallace, Glen (Cheryl) Ross, and Jessie Bonner.

He leaves to cherish memories: two children; Terrance (Tameka) Ross of Conyers, GA and daughter, Erica (Reginald) Williams of West Point GA; three sisters, Martha Dawson of LaGrange, GA, Gylenda Moody of Shawmut, AL, and Debra (Jerry) Jackson of West Point, GA; three brothers, Robert Bonner of Lanett AL, Baron Ross and Benjamin Ross of West Point, GA; four grandchildren, Nichlos Ross, Jonathan Ross, Concepcion Ross and Shatifah Williams; brother-in-law John(Bessie)Haynes, LaFayette, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 11:00 am EST in the Westview Cemetery with the Rev. Rodell Poole serving as the Eulogist.

Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the mortuary.
