Obituary For Martis Penn Sr.

Carter Funeral Home humbly announces the transition of Pastor Martis Penn, Sr., 80, of Union Springs, Alabama.

A community leader and dedicated servant to all, Pastor Penn faithfully served and supported the congregations of Reese Chapel AME Zion Church in the Marvyn Community, and Pine Grove AME Zion Church in the Cotton Valley Community for over a decade.

Having completed his earthly service, Pastor Penn peacefully transitioned on July 30, 2020.

Celebration of Life Services and Interment will be held Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 11:00 am from the Wesley Garden Cemetery of the Cornerstone Community, Union Springs, AL.

The message of Triumph will be rendered by Rev. Dr. Stephen Faulk, Pastor of the Auburn AME Zion Church and the Presiding Elder of the Opelika District.

Public visitation will be held Friday, August 7, 2020 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.

All services and visitations will be conducted exercising prescribed social distancing protocols. Facial coverings for all attendees are mandated per an executive order of the Governor of the State of Alabama.
