Donte Ricktez Lowe was born to the parents of Ms. Debbie B. Lowe and Mr. Ricky Tillman at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia on May 18, 1979. He was lovingly raised in Hogansville alongside maternal grandmother, the late Vera J. Lakes, with his sister, extended family members, and many lifelong friends that nurtured and showered him with love.

He received his formal education all in Troup County at Hogansville High School and West Georgia Technical College, where he was known to be both playful and serious.

Donte will be remembered by his family and best friends as witty, funny, loyal, and always finding his way to the center of the conversation. The best times for him was surrounded by family during large gatherings. He had a heart of gold and was always prepared to debate with the best of them about regarding the latest social, political, or sports issues of the moment. Donte also loved hanging out with friends, playing and watching basketball, and everything about the “USC Trojans” football and the “Los Angeles Lakers’” basketball.

He worked as a machine operator and store clerk for a period but stopped after suffering a debilitating injury and later moved to Atlanta with his sister. There, he still used social media to remain actively connected to his closest family and friends.

However, on the morning on July 11th, GOD called him home to take his place amongst our heavenly ancestral elders.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a son, Donte Ricktez Shepard of Lagrange; his mother, Ms. Debbie B. Lowe of Lagrange; his father, Rick Tillman, Sr. of Atlanta; his beloved sister, Georgette K. Jones, a brother, Ricky Tillman, Jr. and sister, Caronda Tillman; one beloved niece, G’Aja Beasley and two beloved nephews, Kadarian and Jonathan Jones, all of Atlanta. He is also survived and cherished locally by his beloved aunt Angela Lowe-Davis of Hogansville, three uncles Frederick L. Lowe, Sr. of Lagrange, Tony (Bevely) Lowe of Atlanta, and Cedric (Catrena) Lowe of Lagrange; and three other aunts all from metro Atlanta, Mellanie Beasley Annette (Allen) Robinson, and Valerie Wood. A special aunt-cousin Djuana Reed of Atlanta and uncle-cousin Joel (Juanita) Grier of Lagrange; and three grand aunts Lizzie (Thomas) Hancock of Atlanta, Patricia Beasley of Lagrange, and Diane Beasely Parham of Covington, Georgia.

Several beloved cousins and friends Mario K. Blalock, Tequisha Cameron, Rashard Cameron, Richard Lucas, Kevin Smith, Demetris Smith, Devada Lakes, Tyrus Rosser, James Stinson; lifelong special sister-friends, Tamunya Tigner and Ushekia McGhee, lifelong brother-friend, Rashawn Thrash; and many other wonderful family and friends…
