Ms. Ethel Juanita “ Pam” Broome of Pennington, NJ, formerly of Lanett, AL gained her wings into eternal rest on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at her residence.

A Celebration of Life Service honoring Ms. Broome will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. EST in the St. John Community Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Eric Dowdell, Pastor, Officiating, and the Rev. Walter L. Darden, Eulogist.

Public viewing will be on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the mortuary.

Ethel Juanita (Pam) Broome was born on April 15, 1936 to the late Willis and Ethel Broom in Chambers County, Alabama.

As a founding member of the St John Community Baptist Church, she became the first pianist for the Senior and Junior Choirs which originated in her home on February 9,1968. Her academic achievements include John Elementary School, Lanier High School, Lanett AL, Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, Tuskegee Institute, and a Master’s Degree in Urban Education, Trenton State College. Pam became one of the first Black teachers to intergrade the Lanett Educational School systems. In 1969, she moved to Trenton NJ and became a second and third grade teacher. Pam joined the Shiloh Baptist Church in Trenton, NJ in the early’s 1970. She served on the Hospitality and Missionary ministries until her health declined. Pam left an indelible mark on her four-season retirement community in Pennington NJ. Pam Broome departed this life on Sunday June 7, 2020.

She leaves to cherish in memory; her aunt, Charlotte (Charlie Belle) Patton; cousin (like a Sister), Bernice Jones and her children, Antoinette, Melody and Walter of New York City; some of her many cousins; Willie Bailey, Doris Barber, Oretha Hardy ,Willie Ella (Baby Sis), and Yvonne Stanford,; her Godchildren, Sylvia and Fred Stout and their children; special friends, Ruth Palmer ,Doris Harley, and Connie Jones ;a host of Cumberlander and Broome cousins, extended family members and friends.
