Obituary For Mrs. Mattie P. Johnson Shealey

Shealey, Mrs. Mattie P. Johnson, a resident of Valley, AL, died Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Columbus Hospice, Columbus, GA.

Graveside Services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 12:00 Noon (EST) from Zion Rest Cemetery, Fob James Drive in Valley, AL with Pastor Frederick Stanley officiating. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.

Public Viewing is scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.

Mattie P. Johnson Shealey was born June 26, 1937 to the late Mr. Percy and Mrs. Mattie Lou Huguley Johnson, Sr. in Valley, Alabama. A faithful member of Zion Rest Baptist Church in Valley, she enjoyed working for the Lord and served with the Usher Ministry. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was a caregiver to many.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, James Shealey, Sr.; siblings, Mary H. Clayton, Annie L. Shealey, Harold Johnson, Johnny A. Johnson Verner Currington; and, her son, James Shealey, Jr. Mattie Johnson Shealey departed this life on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, GA.

She leaves to cherish precious memories: devoted children, Lucille (Lonnie) Torbert, Bobbie (Charlie) Little, Debra Currington, Kenneth (Shanta) Shealey, Edward Shealey and Munecas (Stephanie) Pimpton; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Hattie Marshall, Maggie (Rudolph) Morris, Elaine Matti and Percy Johnson, Jr.; and, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
