Obituary For Mr. Jesse B. Barnes

Barnes, Mr. Jesse B., a resident of Valley, AL, died Thursday, May 7, 2020 in East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, AL.

Graveside Services are scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2020 at 12:00 Noon from Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery, Valley, AL with Pastor Karanja Story officiating. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.

Public Viewing is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.

Mr. Jesse B. Barnes was born November 30, 1942 to the late Mrs. Robert and Mrs. Iona Farmby Barnes in Fairfax (now Valley), Alabama.

At an early age he confessed Christ as his personal Savior and joined Rehoboth Baptist Church of Valley, Alabama. Jesse served his country in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge in 1968.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; two sisters, Marion James and Clementine Cooper; and one brother, James Robert Barnes. Jesse B. Barnes departed this life on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama.

Cherishing his memories are: a loving daughter, Sharon (Thaddeus) Jenkins, Lanett, AL; grandson, Caleb Jenkins, Lanett, AL; great-granddaughter, Briar Jenkins, Lanett, AL; a devoted sister, Brenda Faye Holmes, Valley, AL; aunt, Mary (George) Williams, Lanett, AL; nieces, Joyce Robinson, Alexander City, AL, Loretta Dozier, Atlanta, GA and Melanie (Sylvester) Stephens, Valley, AL; nephews, Donald (Dorothy) and Jerry (Lisa) Dozier, Atlanta, GA, Gregory Dozier, Dallas, TX, Kenneth Dozier, Rodney Holmes and Marcus Holmes all of Valley, AL; special cousin, Howard Barnes; brother-in-law, Joseph James; and, a host of other relatives and friends.
