Alzater, affectionately known as “Tiny,” was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and daughter. She was blessed with a wealth of knowledge, talents, and humor that made her truly unforgettable.
She loved cooking and entertaining. She was a “master chef” in her own regard; her culinary skills and dish presentation were unmatched. Her larger-than-life personality and boisterous laugh made even the most serious take notice. To her family and friends she was always ready to help plan the next event, or lend a helping hand in times of need. She was also admired for her eloquent poems that captured the deepest emotions to let you know she cared.
“Tiny” attended West Point High School, where she was class president, a cheerleader, and, also, played flute in the band. She went on to graduate as a master cosmetologist from West GA Technical College and spent many years working as a hair stylist, make-up artist, and nail technician. She later returned to earn a certificate in cake decorating, adding to her professional catering skillset.
Alzater was a member of Goodsell United Methodist Church, where she participated in the choir and served as an usher.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Craig Bernard Peters and father, Lee Grant Peters, Jr.
Alzater leaves to cherish wonderful memories:her mother, Mary Phine Peters-Potts ; stepfather, Donald S. Potts; her daughters Jacylin Jattire Peters and Janiya Leigh Peters, and one very loved granddaughter, Seraphine Elizabeth Peters; three special cousins ,that were more like her sisters, Marie France Carter, Regina Deneen Carter McQueen, and Reiko Kanashi Williams, and a co-worker who became her best friend & sister she never had, Tina Williams. She also leaves behind her uncle, Fletcher Lee, Jr. and aunt, Florine Griggs, as well as a host of cousins and friends.
