Milton McConnell Jr.

Mr. Milton C. McConnell Jr. entered this life on May 15, 1947 in Carrollton, Georgia to the Lozie Bell Ridley and the late Milton C. McConnell Sr. Milton transcended this life on Friday April 17,2020.

Milton graduated from Carver High School in Carrollton, Ga. He was drafted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea before returning home. Milton was employed with Southwire Corporation for 36 years. While employed with Southwire Corporation, he attended Business school in Atlanta for 2 years.

Milton McConnell Jr. married Louise Bonner (Franklin, Ga.) on July 17, 1971. They happily married for 39 years. Their union brought forth two children.

He leaves to cherish his memories his two sons, Milton (Diane) C. McConnell III of Palm Bay, Florida and Michael (Annette) A. McConnell of Villa Rica, Georgia; Two very special grandchildren, Darian Myles McConnell and Kamry Lashea McConnell. One brother, Kirk (Dee) McConnell of Lawrenceville, Georgia; two sisters, Sarah (James) Henderson of Carrollton, Georgia and Belinda (Elliott) Alexander of Rome, Georgia; a very special cousin, Maudie Kate Lindsey (Hogansville, Georgia);a super special friend, Gale Walker (Villa Rica, Georgia); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Milton McConnell gave his life to Christ at an early age. He became a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church (Franklin, Georgia) where he was ordained as a Deacon and later joined the Westside Baptist Church where he served as a dedicated and faithful member for many years.

He truly was one of God’s greatest servants. The love and compassion he bestowed upon others was a true testament of the type of servant that God would have us to be. He was an excellent father figure to many. His voice will continue to echo through the vista of time. He gained his wings from this life, but his life will always be remembered.

Private Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 24, 2020 at Carrollton City Cemetery. Pastor Keefe Lane will officiate.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be a limit of 3 people at a time in the Funeral Home with social distancing of six feet.
