Davis, Mr. Lanny D., a resident of Lanett, AL, died Thursday, April 2, 2020 at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, AL.

Funeral Services will be held on April 9, 2020 with Rev. Dr. Lamar D. Johnson officiating.

Interment in New Hope Cemetery, Lanett, AL. Davis Memorial Mortuary directing.

Mr. Davis was a devoted member of his church serving faithfully as a Deacon, Financial Secretary, Church Clerk and in other ministries. He also served as President of the Bowen East District Laymen Auxiliary. He was a graduate of Lanier High School and Alabama A & M University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He retired from the Chambers County Department of Human Resources as a Social Worker.

His survivors include: his loving sister, Sharolyn Trammell; one brother, Herman Davis; a special niece, Angela (Travis) Hargett: two great-nieces, Ka'lyn and Kennedi Hargett all of Lanett, AL; nieces, Sankola (Michael) Maxton, Tuscaloosa, AL and LaSonya Ferrell, Lanett, AL; nephews, Keilan Davis, Lanett, AL, Kenneth Davis, Atlanta, GA and Leon Meadows, Hampton, GA; aunts, Rudine Smith, Lanett, AL and Princella Smith, Detroit, MI; a special cousin, LaRuth Buchanan, Tuscumbia, AL; other relatives and friends.
