Mr. John C. Shepard, 62 of Dadeville, Alabama peacefully transitioned home on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at his residence.

Funeral services for Mr. John C Shepard will be held at 11 AM Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Wright’s Funeral Home Chapel with a private interment at Dadeville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, February 28, 2020 from 2:00 until 6:00 PM.

The family will receive friends on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 AM

John C. Shepard, Jr., was born on August 12, 1957 to the late Margaret Pearson Shepard and John C. Shepard, Sr. John graduated from Camp Hill High School in 1975 and immediately volunteered for the United States Army where he faithfully served for the next three years. He continued his education by earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In an effort to relieve the nursing shortage, John returned to school at Southern Union, graduating in 1985, all while maintaining employment at East Alabama Medical Center where he remained employed until God called him home on Tuesday, February 25, 2020. John was preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers, Lester Webb and James Shepard; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Arrington; and one brother-in-law, Wilbur Rowe.

John leaves behind: a loving wife of thirty-seven years, Linda; two children, Samantha of Birmingham, AL and Johnathan of Dadeville, AL; two sisters, Linda (Anthony) Wilson of Selma, AL and Bernice Rowe of Dadeville, AL; one brother, George Webb of Camp Hill, AL; two sisters-in-law, Kecia Pearson and Mary Stroud; two brothersin- law, Willie McClain and Gary Arrington, all of Dadeville, AL; one aunt, Bonnie Curry of Dothan, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
