Mr. Zenobia Smith, 79 of Goodwater, Alabama peacefully transitioned home on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at residence surrounded by her family.

Funeral Service for Mrs. Zenobia Smith 79, of Goodwater, Alabama will be held 12:00 Noon Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with interment following Macedonia Memorial Garden.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. with the Eastern Star burial service at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m.

A Time to be Born: Zenobia Holloway Smith was born to Ms. Mary Frank Holloway on April 9, 1940, in Coosa County, Alabama. A Time to be Educated: Zenobia attended the Coosa County School System. In 1956, she was a proud graduate of J.D. Thompson High School. A Time to Serve her Lord and Savior: At an early age, she confessed Christ and united with Pleasant Home Baptist Church. In later years, she joined Macedonia Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as church clerk, Sunday School teacher, choir member, and youth choir director, until her health declined.

A Time to Love:

On June 15, 1957, Zenobia married the love of her life, Mr. James Smith, and enjoyed 62 years of love.

A Time to Share:

Zenobia shared her talents and love in the community as the PTA secretary, Girl Scout troop leader, and as the Associate Matron of the Addie Lee Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star Golden Circle. She also shared her talent with Russell Corporation for 32 years of dedicated serve.

A Time to Cry

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Frank Holloway, and grandparents, Daniel and Ella Holloway.

A Time to Transition:

Early Thursday morning, Zenobia peacefully moved from her earthly house to her heavenly home, surrounded by the love of her family. Zenobia’s precious memories will forever live in the hearts of: husband, James Smith of Goodwater, Alabama; her daughters, Mary Love Pruitt and Abigail Smith, both of Goodwater, Alabama; two sons, James Edward (Sheila) Smith of Augusta, Georgia, and Gary Daniel (Tyree) Smith of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; a special friend, Ms. Nina Ware; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends.
